Kelsey & Mike are two of the most creative and fun individuals I have the pleasure of knowing. The moment we met, for our first meeting, we just clicked. That was 2 years ago, and I am very happy to consider these two some of my closest friends.

Kelsey: The crowning portion of the Ukrainian Orthodox ceremony has always been really powerful to me. Standing there beside Mike with our hands tied together and the crowns above our heads was really special. It made everything feel very real and exciting.
Mike: Seeing Kelsey for the first time in her dress, expecting her to look nervous and scared, and seeing nothing but excitement and love in her eyes.
What was your favorite detail?
Kelsey: I feel like all the little details became our ‘babies’ over the course of our planning so it’s hard to pick just one. I adored our eclectic centerpieces and having the popcorn machine.
Mike: The invitations. We designed and printed over 200 by hand. The project was super ambitious and wasn’t without its setbacks, but the final product was something that couldn’t have been done by anyone but us. Doesn’t hurt that our guests loved them too!
Do you have any advice for future brides & grooms?
Kelsey: Include whatever makes you happy, even if it seems silly to others. When we first came up with the Victorian museum look that we wanted for our day people thought we were nuts. But it looked totally beautiful in the end and was soooo perfect for us.
Mike: Everyone will tell you this, because it’s true: just enjoy the day. If you’re going to stress out, do it in the weeks or months leading up to the wedding. By the time the rehearsal begins, the wheels are already in motion, and you’re no longer steering, so it’s best just to enjoy the ride, even if it’s a little bumpy along the way.
There were many laughs throughout the day, but they were hard to translate to outside readers. But-in very adorable fashion-Russell, The Tanasiuk family munchkin cat, made several uninvited appearances in photographs. He just didn’t want to leave us alone.
Where did you go/will you go for your honey moon?
We went to Arizona for six days shortly after the wedding and spent time in Scottsdale and Sedona.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Never! Everything seemed to work out just how we dreamed it would.

Until then, have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
It was super exciting to receive an e-mail from Jennifer, as we hadn’t seen eachother in just over 3 years. A lot had changed in our lives in that time, and I was thrilled to hear she had recently given birth to a bouncing boy, Zachary. The two of them made the trip up to Edmonton one snowy weekend in November, and it was wonderful to catch up.
He is the happiest little guy!
I can’t get enough of the photo above right – their facial expressions are a mirror image of each other’s. Zachary is certainly his mother’s son. :)
Happy Holidays to the two of you – can’t wait to catch up again soon!
